In 2019, we chose to build our own sock development mill at our on-site facility at the Minus33 headquarters in Ashland, NH. Bringing some of our sock manufacturing back to the original L.W. Packard mill site allows the sock development team to be more directly involved in the design process, quality control, and lets us be hands-on with the final product every step of the way. In 2020, we were able to release our first NH made collection, The Mountain Heritage Collection. Utilizing our 100+ years in textile and wool industry expertise to the fullest, we have created what we believe is a sock as unique and durable as the mountains they're named after.
Merino Wool Benefits
Moisture-Wicking
Merino wool regulates the amount of moisture on your skin by absorbing any moisture or sweat on your body. Then, the absorbed moisture evaporates out of the fabric into the atmosphere.
Insulating
Wool fibers have a natural crimp, which creates air pockets that trap dead, warm air inside – right next to your skin.
Flexible and Resilient
Merino wool socks are naturally elastic, allowing them to stretch to your movements. At the fiber level, wool has a natural crimp which helps it bend to move, and then return to its initial shape.
Natural
Merino wool socks are natural and can be composted with minimal waste when the end of their lives are reached, or can easily be recycled to create other wool products.

1. Cuff Elastic Zone: Elastic on the welt to keep the merino wool sock up and in place all day.
2. Stretch Nylon Yarns: Stretch nylon yarns throughout the sock are light enough to keep the merino content high while giving shape and fit to the sock.
3. Wool/Nylon Yarns: We dialed in our tarn selection using wool and nylon yarns, giving high durability and stretch to the sock while keeping the wool content high.
4. Seamless Toe: For a perfect fit and smooth, comfortable finish that prevents blisters, our socks use seamless toe technology.
5. Arch Elastic Zone: Elastic arch support keep the foot of the sock in place all day long.
- Full Length: Comes all the way up to the knee.
- Boot: Designed to be slightly above the standard 10 in boot height.
- Crew: Comes up to the bottom of the calf, the most common sock height.
- Mini Crew: Adds a little more ankle protection, covering the entire ankle.
- Ankle: Covers just above the ankle bone.
- No Show: Designed to sit just below the ankle bone.
